divine

My personal feelings about dowsing lie more on the side of skepticism, but for this piece, I thought the iconic dowsing or divining rod was the perfect object to recreate for the 5th Annual Recycled Rain Project. Playing on the term "divine," I made the rod from found turned wood bits to give it a ceremonial feel, and gilded the surface with rainwater and gold leaf. At the tip is a tiny raindrop painted to look like earth.
