This past summer, I embarked on a secret project while at an artist's residency at Pine Meadow Ranch in Sisters, OR. It began with my experimenting with gouache paints and I decided to use fruit as my muse. When I had completed a small grouping, they seemed to need something else, so I collaged a bird on each piece and thought that was the end of that.....but I couldn't stop thinking about the absurdity of the bird on the strawberry and how wee it would be in real life, which led me to turn this project into an episodic series titled "How Big is this Bird?"
As a lifelong advocate of physically mailed missives, I have decided to turn this collection into a subscription of 13 mailings. The first will be a card that explains the project and confirms your subscription--then I'll send out the next month's calendar page so it arrives within the week before you need it. Each 8.5" x 5.5" page will have a print of my original artwork with the poem printed next to it, as seen in the January illustration here. At the end of the year, you can cut the calendar part off and frame the collection if you so desire.
Each image is printed on high quality 100# uncoated smooth white cover paper.
Want to give this as a gift? No problem! The announcement (see photo #2) has a space where I can write your name in so your friends know it's from you! (You can add this info below. If the calendar subscription is a gift for yourself, go ahead and write in your own name because I'll also mail you the announcement which ensures that your subscription is working. If it's a gift for someone else....be sure to write in your friend's name and address in the ship to section when you place the order!)
I will need to cut off orders some time in early December in order to get the first run of printing done so I can ship in time, so don't delay....order today!
*this price is for all addresses within the United States. If you are outside the US, please contact me and I can estimate shipping costs for your particular part of the planet.
