In 2019, the Ronald McDonald House commissioned me to design a Wishing Tree for their new South Waterfront facility in Portland. This sculpture will provide families who stay there with an interactive experience in writing wishes they have for the sick child in their life and hanging them on the tree.
This tree was designed in laser cut stainless steel. Black walnut was adhered to the trunk and major limb areas, and all the leaves, birds and animals were accented with painted wood bits.
A second tree will be created for another new facility in Springfield, OR in summer of 2019.
